History of Our Shed
The Serpentine Jarrahdale Mens Shed have been operating in one form or another since 2009. Our Founder Brian Phillips had a vision to create a shed on land we had leased from the shire near the Old Mill in Jarrahdale, in conjunction we were going to construct a Museum to highlite the Shearing and Timber industries of the shire, unfortunately we could not raise sufficient funds for this project.!
Where we are at Present
When the Shire offered us, what was originally the old scout hall and later the Girl Guides building, we jumped at the chance to finally obtain our own home. Since that day in 2016, we have gone from strength to strength. Our membership has grown, we have gained several grants for tooling and modifications and our variety of projects has increased dramatically.
Community and Members
The Shed exists Primarily to create a safe, friendly, non judgemental environment, where men of all ages, but mostly of retirement age, can come and talk with like minded Men about health issues or simply world problems. At times we actually do manage to generate a few jobs to pay our way.
